As a newly appointed business you have been instructed to conduct an research on businesses in London. The investigation that you carry out will enable London Business Solutions to use your finding and later present at the annual conference they will conduct for all their current employees.
My coosen business will be cleaning company.
Task 1 (LO 1.1,1.2,1 and M1)
a) You are required to choose a business of your choice and describe the profile of the selected business by addressing the following,
• Components of the business
• Objectives of the business
• Internal and external factors affecting the performance of the selected business
• Performance measures used by the business
• Responsibilities and liabilities of the owner manager
b) You are required to review and analyse the performance of the business by comparing with another similar sized business of your choice. Your comparison needs to cover the following,
• Financial
• Production
• Use of technology
• Marketing
• Sales
• Human Resources
c) Identify the strengths and weaknesses of the business using a SWOT analysis.
Task 2 (LO 2.1,2.2,2.3 and D3 )
It is important that all business always make relevant changes to improve management and business performance. To better understand this you are required to,
a) Identify the weaknesses of your chosen business and recommend and justify appropriate actions required to overcome the weaknesses
b) Investigate and analyse the ways in which the existing performance of the business could be maintained and strengthened and just your reasons
c) Suggest new areas in which the business could be expanded, justifying your suggestions.
Task 3 (LO 3.1,3.2 and M2/ D1)
Businesses and organisation around the UK always revise and modify business plans and objectives in order to incorporate changes. Using your chosen business you need address the following,
a) Produce an assessment of the existing business objectives and plans. You need to highlight and assess the following,
• Structure of the business
• Current performance
• Change to business objectives
• Impact of changes on business plans
b) Evaluate and revise business plans to incorporate appropriate changes. You need to also mention the following points,
• Identity the changes that you recommend to make
• Identify the budgeting for changes to take place
c) You need to prepare an action plan to the implement changes. Your action plan needs address the following points,
• Implementation of changes
• Monitoring and evaluating changes
• Setting deadlines
• Performance measures
Task 4 (LO 4.1,4.2,4.3 and M3/ D2 )
Using your chosen business you need to examine the impact of change management operations that it will have on the business. To better understand this you are required to
a) Explain the impact a change of management that it will have on the customer and staff of the business.
b) You need to develop a plan that will allow management to manage the effect of "under new management".
c) Monitor the business after 6 weeks and conduct primary research on the performance of the business and show evidence of this
