For this coursework you are required to write a report of 2000-2500 words in which you discuss and reflect on the use of information technology (IT) in accounting. One of the following topics must be chosen: 1. The impact of IT on management accounting 2. The impact of IT on auditing 3. Enterprise modelling as a means to understand accounting 4. ERP integration and its impact on management accounting 5. IT in the context of financial reporting 6. Technology as a means to facilitate the flow of information to/from accounting processes If you wish to write your report on another topic covered in the MG2603 lectures, you will need to seek approval from the teaching team. You should base your discussion and reflection on the recommended reading for the module (not necessarily all). In addition, you must find at least three other academic journal articles or conference papers published in conference proceedings. These three publications should directly relate to the chosen topic or be useful in supporting the arguments you make in the report. Generally, if the publication is available via the Brunel Library e-databases (such as EBSCO, ABI/Inform Global, ScienceDirect, Scopus, etc.), it is probably published in an academic journal or conference proceeding. The Brunel Library search facility and Google Scholar can be used to identify potential publications, but please be aware that not all items listed by these sources are research publications. Examples of publications that do not qualify as research publications are books and industry papers. However, you may cite other appropriate material from books, industry papers and websites.
