Assignment title: Information

This should summarise the results from Assignments 1 and 2, providing an overview of the city and where it is heading for the future – population, demographic and spatial growth, resource requirements, economic activity and sustainability. Risks and issues also need to be identified.Summarise the existing infrastructure you are working on, including the existing system and planned upgrades, and the resources which supply your system. Include figures and tables as appropriateBriefly summarise your discussion from Assignment 2 and use this to set your objectives for this assignment. Read through the assignment to ensure you understand the purpose of the assignment in setting your objectives. Set out your scope and any assumptions you will be makingAssess how your infrastructure system already relies on other infrastructure systems. This can not only include resource requirements (e.g. energy) but also spatial (e.g. roading verges for laying infrastructure lines) and management (communication). Ensure you also consider whether there is competition or multiple allocation for the resources which supply your infrastructure system. For example, water, energy, transportation and communication may be needed to provide surrounding agriculture and industry which provide economic and food support for the city. There may also be other urban centres which also use the same resources. Provide diagrams and figures where necessary.3.0 Critical AnalysisProvide an analysis showing how the infrastructure will have to change to meet future needs, both spatially and in system delivery. Consider how and where the city will expand and the risks it will be facing in that expansion, including climate change. Assess the aging of the infrastructure and the need for replacement. Ensure that you also analyse how your infrastructure system will be required in delivering economic and social well-being to the city, including in making the city a healthy and supportive place to live. Evaluate how the city should be shifting to become sustainable and improving the lives of its inhabitants but also in supporting surrounding communities. While your focus on this analysis should be for 2050, you will also need to consider the long term future of the city.
