Goal of the paper The goal of this paper is to discuss about the positive psychology, which is very important in self-leadership. A leader is the one that spread hope, inspiration, and optimism; therefore, positive psychology is important, while working out the leadership. It is true that positive psychology helps in bringing the new thinking in the self- leadership. Follow the below mentioned framework: What is your career? I am doing MBA in international business advanced, and I am interested in pursuing my career as the International Marketing manager in the multinational firm, so that I could fulfill my set goals and get more good opportunities to use my skill and knowledge in better way. What is self-leadership? Self-leadership is the practice that tries to create influence on the feelings, thinking as well as behavior for achieving the goals (Charles and Christopher, 2008). Self-leaders often try to drive for making the decisions, autonomy, persist and to be more creative, even in the time of adversity. What is positive psychology? The area of positive psychology is related to wellbeing, satisfaction and contentment related to the past, optimism, and hope for the future and that flows with happiness in the present time . Positive psychology also focuses over the mental illness of the people and explores the ways through which it could be resolved. Self-leadership is the broad concept that is defined as the process through which one could be influenced towards setting up the self- motivation and self-direction that is required to perform. Research done all across at various settings through the domain of education towards the airline industry has depicted that the practice undertaken towards the effective self-leadership through the employees might lead towards the plethora of the benefits that includes the improvement of self-efficacy, job satisfaction, as well as mental performance. Self- leadership includes leading oneself through using the both mental as well as behavioral techniques . Behavioral self-leadership includes the technique of self-goal setting, self -observation, as well as antecedent's management towards behavior, consequent management towards behavior, such as self-punishment and self-reinforcement, along with exploring the natural rewards in the performance of the task. Technique of mental self-leadership includes alteration and examination of the self-dialogue, mental imagery, and assumptions and thought path. In sum, self- leadership offers the considerable promise for undertaking the pursuit of effectiveness in employees towards the next level. It is true that getting started should not be dramatic. Employees might be motivated through various types of things, but crave is praised and recognized. Need to have the good focus- In order to become the successful international marketing manager, it is required that I should remain focused towards my job. It is required that target should be set by me and on the basis of that I should try to concentrate over achieving the goal. Need to be self-reliant- In international business, only those people can exist who don't take the decisions very reluctantly and are even feel independent while taking it. Therefore, it is important that marketing manager should be able to take the initiatives if they want to excel in their chosen field. Need to have faith in oneself- It is very significant to hold the profound belief in oneself and it is important to feel more determined in order to get success. Need to be laborious- International marketing manager need to possess the zeal towards their work and they should try to give their best in getting the work done. Need to be optimistic- International marketing manager requires staying positive each time, but only the energy of positivity and attitude comes to the advantageous in the hard time period. Need to be adjustable- International marketing manager need to try to adapt the changing time period and also perform as per the requirement of time.
