Overview Blue Sky project is the ambitious project that has focused in building Smart home thermostat which is efficient in terms of economically and environmentally. These thermostats are intended for the middle class home owners to fit into their new or existing homes.The idea of building this new product has a strong winning formula ie excellent "User Interface" as the existing thermostat products in the market are has complex and confusing interface that makes uneasy for the user to efficiently use the product itself. Here we have come up with some of the aspects regarding the user interface of our Blue Sky project.Vision Our vision is to build smart thermostats for common man home that is Easy to use, Economic and Environmental.Scope The scope of the project includes,1. Product marketing in cold-climate areas.2. Requirements elicitation with the engineering expert regarding selection of heating method.3. Selection of heating method.4. Consider continual power supply for the final product in development process.5. Creation of "zoned" heating for up to 3 or more areas ie, partitioning and prioritising areas need to heated.6. Default settings for the bedroom zone is 150 C (590 F) in the daytime, except Sunday before 10 a.m.; then heat bedrooms to 220 C (720 C) between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.)7. Include setting that allow override pre-settings in few hours and few days.Physical requirements:1. Build the product on single microprocessor with a power of Macintosh or an IBM-PC, ROM and non-volatile RAM.2. A single control panel not more than 150mm x 150mm at most, ideally 100mm x 150mm panel.
