Assignment title: Information
The course requires the successful completion of three (3) assessment tasks designed to assess the learning objectives identified for this course. The first two tasks are orientated around group work engagement with key topic areas presented from week 3 to week 8 across the semester. The final assessment task allows you to choose a topic relevant to your field of practice, whether that be the justice and human services sector or the environment and planning sector. Rubric marking guides for all tasks will be available from Blackboard. TASK 1 Group work activity (5% + 5% + 5% + 5% + 5% = 25%) Six group work activities for assessment will be provided in the workshops from week 3 to week 8. Members of each group will be assessed collectively, and the best five activity results of your participating group exercises will be applied as the overall mark. TASK 2 Group work reflective report – 1000 words (25%) This is a reflective piece on at least two group work activities you have participated in and does not require referencing to the literature. However it does need to demonstrate a sound knowledge of materials covered throughout this course. For instance if you choose to reflect on role-play activities conducted in an early class your reflection about how things might be done differently must demonstrate learning and integration of material from other classes. Due: Week 9, 4 May 2015 TASK 3 Major essay – 2000 words (50%) You are required to select a contemporary issue of dispute relevant to your program discipline area, and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the means applied used in the attempt to resolve the dispute alternative to litigation. Due: Week 13, Friday 5 June Lodging written work for assessment Apart from any assessment tasks conducted in class time, all written assignments will be lodged through the course Blackboard Turnitin submission process.
