Part 1 Select and identify five (5) significant events affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people since colonisation. In at least 100 words summarise how these events have shaped the lives of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders people. You MUST refer to the appropriate legislation for at least two of these events. Part 2 In at least 150 words describe the current issues that impact Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people today. Part 3 In at least 150 words discuss how your research on past and present issues has influenced your understanding of reconciliation. Include: What is the meaning of reconciliation? You must reference the current Australian Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Part 4 In at least 150 words discuss how your research will assist you in building effective partnerships with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families. Include: What custodial lands are you on in your area? What are local protocols? Outline at least two (2) communication strategies. Make reference to at least two (2) services where you could access relevant local knowledge and resources to support you in showing respect and awareness. Part 5 In at least 250 words describe how your researched knowledge will affect your choices when planning environments in an education and care setting. Include: How does your research have an effect on providing cultural safety in the workplace and professional relationships? List at least three (3) cultural safety approaches and practices e.g. child rearing practices, play spaces and foyer spaces.
