Assignment Question: A successful local organisation is seeking to expand its business internationally for the first time. You have been hired as a consultant to help to prepare for international expansion. You must advise upon the development of an internationalisation strategy to cover the following:- Provide a brief overview of the chosen organisation and critically discuss which country you would recommend them to enter. (800 words) (20 marks) Discuss typical barriers that will be faced as the organisation expands internationally. (1000 words) (20 marks) Assess the organisation readiness for internationalisation. (1400 words) (40 marks) Based on your analysis, critically evaluate a relevant implementation approach for the internationalisation process (800 words) (20 marks) General Guidelines: Your answers to the questions should be appropriately analysed and must be grounded in appropriate academic literature and must provide clear evidence of independent critical evaluation. Students exceeding the word limit will be penalised. Poor presentation of your written content including spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, poor sentence structure, paragraphing and etc will be penalised All assignments must be word processed – handwritten assignments will attract an automatic FAIL grade. Please use font type Times New Roman; Font size 12; double-spaced. Assignments will be graded on the basis of research done, analysis of the facts collated, stand taken and the justification of the stand. All research must be referenced based on Harvard referencing. Improper or lack of either of these constitutes plagiarism and students will be awarded a Zero. Students found copying from other students will also be charged with collusion and awarded a Zero. Assessment Requirements: The submission of your work assessment should be organised and clearly structured in a report format. Maximum word length allowed is 4000 words, excluding words in charts & tables and in the appendixes section of your assignment. This assignment is worth 100% of the final assessment of the module. Student is required to submit a type-written document in Microsoft Word format with Times New Roman font type, size 12 and line spacing 1.5. Indicate the sources of information and literature review by including all the necessary citations and references adopting the Harvard Referencing System. Students who have been found to have committed acts of Plagiarism are automatically considered to have failed the entire module. If found to have breached the regulation for the second time, you will be asked to leave the course. Plagiarism involves taking someone else's words, thoughts, ideas or essays from online essay banks and trying to pass them off as your own. It is a form of cheating which is taken very seriously. The answers must reflect a match between the environmental assessment of the target country and the strengths and competitive advantage of the organisation. Areas include management capabilities, organisation vision, financials, organisational structure. They will be expected to provide a logical and cogent critical discussion and provide an answer containing academic and conceptual depth. The difference between excellent and good is likely to be in the areas of the extent of criticality provided in the discussion, the degree of focus on the specific question asked, structure, professional presentation and critical evaluation. Based on your analysis, critically evaluate a relevant implementation approach for the internationalisation process (800 words) (20 marks) Answer Students are expected to offer their prescriptive view on implementation strategy by referring to the selected mode of entry. Students are advised to highlight the perceived challenges and required action plans.
