After studying Chapter 2 in your text, it should be pretty apparent the laboratory is one of the most highly regulated healthcare organizations. Select two agencies (one under HHS and one not under HHS), and assess the impact of each on the clinical laboratory. Include the following in your discussion. 1. Why and how is the lab regulated by these agencies? 2. What effects (e.g., personnel, budget, quality, etc.) do you see these having on the lab? 3. As a CLS, what do you see as your involvement in complying with these requirements? Discuss the above question regarding laboratory regulation.
