Assignment title: Information
Your task (Report Specs) This assignment is essentially a two part assignment; the first part of the assignment will concentrate on the analysis and planning of the proposed website, where the second part of the assignment will be mainly focused on developing a non-functioning website prototype and an accompanying mobile application. As a designer, you may consult with your tutor to ensure you accurately reflect the requirements of your proposed design. Your plan must include details of page layout, colours, graphics, typography, as well as navigation and site structure. You must also consider HCI (Human Computer Interaction) elements to justify your design and user interface. As well as the web and HCI elements, a vital part of this assignment is the perceived business advantage; you must be able to prove that the business will benefit from your design. Main Submission Requirements (Part A) Analysis and Prototype Development The client scenarios are provided on the unit website, please follow the specifications as best as possible. Any Inquiries about the scenarios or specifications should be forward as soon as possible to your tutor. The accompanying report should cover to a high academic standard the following items: - A brief outline of your ch - sen scenario including; - Industry background (have others of the same industry made the transition from bricks and mortar to online success - reference these businesses) - Competitors (who is considered to be the main competitor or market leader of your sc enarios chosen business sector) - Perceived benefits (projected benefits for both the business and customers) - Who is the target audience and how are their needs addressed (research gained from the scenario outline and the above background analysis should assist you in this area) - An outline of the kind of project team required to develop this website and mobile app (real-world roles and responsibilities) - An interim proposed page designs using detailed storyboards for both the website and the mobile app. (see figure 1.2, scenario outline for elements to be included) - The functional specifications illustrating the sites structure, page design, navigation method, communication and customer tools. (Diagrams can be used to illustrate the sites structure, e.g: hierarchy, taxonomy, matrix/grid or a hybrid of structures). - Reflect on the benefits of the transaction services implemented for the chosen business scenario in respect to the standard e business models (business-to-consumer (B2C),business-to-business (B2B) model and consumer-to-consumer C2C). Including a simple systems diagram illustrating your systems relationship with its various components both virtual and physical. - Copyright issues (method of protecting your online assets) - Content Management (method and strategy for updating the webpages) - Must also address the clients requirements set out in the scenarios. (Part B) Prototype Development and Projected Implementation In this part of the assignment a hi-fidelity prototype will be required to be developed to illustrate the aesthetics and user functionality options as proposed by the storyboards. (Part A) The hi-fidelity prototype can be developed in any drawing packages (fromhi-end Photoshop to simple low-end Powerpoint), but it must accurately depict how the pages would appear to the users. **You may use development tools if you wish, but the prototype does not have to be functional. Additional report requirements -continue from part A(approx.500 words) - Discuss how your mobile app will add value to the business and compliment the website. - Illustrate possible additional methods of using the mobile app to gain a greater market share and competitive advantage over its competitors. - Illustrate possible additional methods of using the website to gain a greater market share and competitive advantage over its competitors. Consider the following; - Other additional marketing possibilities - Search engine optimization - Accessibility issues - Web 2.0 (use of social media, social networks etc.) - New alliances and or cross promotional options Additional reportrequirements-continue from partA(500 words) oDiscuss how your mobile app will add value to the business and compliment the website. o Illustrate possible additional methods of using the mobile app to gain a greater market share and competitive advantage over its competitors. oIllustrate possible additional methods of using the website to gain a greater market share andcompetitive advantage over its competitors.
