Access to the internet and/or textbooks is permissible. As this is a major project it is conceivable this task may take up to the equivalent 35 hours. Assessment Criteria: To achieve a satisfactory result, your assessor will be looking for your ability to demonstrate the following key skills/tasks/knowledge to an acceptable industry standard: • Analyse existing infrastructure • Assess virtualisation opportunities • Research available virtualisation platforms • Recommend suitable virtualisation solution Number of Attempts: You will receive up to two (2) attempts at this assessment task. Implement server virtualisation for a sustainable ICT system   ASSESSMENT 2 – EVALUATE A NETWORK STRUCTURE FOR VIRTUALISATION SUITABILITY Scenario – You have finalised the design and structure of the new network, the client has asked if virtualisation could be used for any of the new servers and what changes would be require. Your assignment is to provide a report to the client that includes: 1. An evaluation of the new network structure (Phase 1 and 2) for virtualisation suitability, this evaluation must identify which severs could be virtualised? 2. Recommendation for which virtual technology should be used and includes: a. Which companies Hypervisor and management software do you recommend? b. The recommendation must also consider the current and future needs of the client (Phase 1 and 2) 3. Identify any hardware, software or infrastructure components changes that must be made to allow virtualisation to occur 4. Provides a recommendation for the specifications of physical servers needed to support proposed server virtualisation 5. Identifies the benefits the client can expect from virtualisation of their servers 6.
