Assignment title: Information
A Strategy for Planning Your Historical Background
Step 1: Choose a relevant event (an event occurs at a time and place) or publication in
history from which your chronology will grow. For example, if you were researching
how civil rights in the U.S. affected job mobility in the U.S., then taking an event from
the Civil Rights Movement during 1960s would be a great idea. So, ask yourself,
"What was the event in history or publication that truly made my topic a real topic?"
o Goal: Find a relevant historical event (or publication) that made the topic a
real topic.
Step 2: Research and read about the history following the event you chose in step 1. Try
to build a timeline from step 1 all the way to today's manifestation of the topic!
Collect cites as needed and make sure you include them into the timeline.
Remember, you will have to properly document/cite your entire dissertation, and
you must do so here as well!
o Goal: Construct the timeline and plan to write one paragraph for each of
the major events within the timeline.
Step 3: Write a short thought about how the current form of the topic ties to you want to
present in your literature review.
o Goal: The timeline should terminate just prior to the current form of the
topic. Make sure your timeline walks the reader from step 1 all to the
point that they will be ready to read about the current perspective of the
topic.

Mini Literature Review (MLR)
Poverty and unemployment are one of the critical factors that derail the overall
development and growth of a nation. Entrepreneurship is one of the valuable prospects on
African continent that can engage people in viable activities. They have the potential to increase
the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and promote the well-being and enhance the status of the
people. It is thus important to identify the factors that are responsible for poverty and how these
factors can be mitigated with the promotion of entrepreneurship in the sub- Saharan Africa.

Context of problem
The Lack of job prospects, mismanagement of resources, the high cost of transportation,
and increased health burden are the most common problems associated with the communities of
Sub-Saharan Africa. Entrepreneurship is one of the exemplary programs that has the potential to
engage community members, especially the youth of this region to overcome the financial
burden. With the increased prospect of setting small scale entrepreneurship, African population
is displaying the true potential to increase the overall GDP.
The rise of entrepreneurship among the Sub-Saharan Africa population is also sufficient for
the community's development, as it engages youth, help minimize the crime rate, and reduces
the poverty level. The scope of the present mini literature review is to illustrate the beneficial
role of "entrepreneurship" in the context of mitigation poverty and unemployment rate for the
African region.
