Assignment title: Information

DAH811 – Architectural Design 8 Assessment Item Two – Project 2. Introduction Considering that you have started on the Schematic Design of your building, and have become familiar with Keppler's glass products, it is now time to demonstrate that you have started to resolve the architectural technology. What is required for Assessment Item Two (Project 2)? You are required to consider and incorporate the brief as defined in Project 1. For Project 2, you are required to submit a detailed 'Report', which fully documents and explains how you propose to reinterpretLuxfer Prism tiles and their structural support system. In addition to these requirements, you will also detail how your reiterations achieve architectural sustainability. Your 'Report' with additionally explain how the Luxfer Prisms and structural support will holistically integrated into the Hall of Democracy to achieve lighting control and natural ventilation. This portion of the 'Report', that you present, will take the format of two 'Patent Applications': one for the Luxfer Prisms and one for the structural support of these. In addition to these two 'Patent Applications', your 'Report' will also provide three detailed sections. These sections will detail how the above product, structure , lighting and ventilation requirements will integrate onto the roof, façade and floor of your Hall of Democracy. You are required to present these sections as Technical Documentation at a mandatory scale of 1:20. Format Your will present you 'Report' using text, plans, sections, elevations, and 3D representations, using A1 size sheets. When and how is it due? The assessment for Project 2 is due, for oral presentation by each individual during the designated Wednesday studio time in Week 6 (31 August 2016). In addition to the physical presentation of your work, you are also required to upload an identical Portable Document Format (PDF) duplicate of the printed hard copy to the unit's Blackboard site, for the Unit Coordinators further consideration and moderation. This task is due on the same time/date as the oral presentation. The link for the PDF upload can be found under the Assessment tab of Blackboard. You are required to do all of the above – the oral presentation and the PDF submission in Week 6. If you miss any of these submissions, a zero mark will be awarded.7 6 5 4 3 2 1 50% "An ability to research, analyse and integrate appropriate building services, environmentally sustainable technologies, structural systems, and construction solutions into advanced building design." Demonstrated ability to effectively produce a 'Report' that:  Provides relevant technical skills in relation to the product, structure, lighting and ventilation.  Integrates appropriately with its context through the use of architectural technology.  Exhibits applied architectural sustainability in the glazing and structural systems. Provides an exceptional level of technical skill that intelligently and creatively demonstrates a radical knowledge of its context, architectural technology and sustainability applications. The resultant 'Report' is therefore correct in all regards and has no obvious errors or clashes. Provides a very high level of technical skill that intelligently demonstrates an advanced knowledge of its context, architectural technology and sustainability applications. The resultant 'Report' is therefore correct in almost all regards and has a few flaws and conflicts. Provides a high level of technical skill that demonstrates a moderate knowledge of its context, architectural technology and sustainability applications. The resultant 'Report' is therefore frequently correct and has numerous flaws and conflicts. Provides an acceptable level of technical skill that demonstrates an adequate knowledge of its context, architectural technology and sustainability applications. The resultant 'Report' is therefore mostly correct and has numerous obvious flaws and conflicts. Provides evidence of limited and/or disconnected technical skill that demonstrates an inappropriate knowledge of its context, architectural technology and sustainability applications. The resultant 'Report' is therefore frequently incorrect and has numerous fundamental flaws and conflicts. Provides evidence of minimal or inferior technical skill that demonstrates little, if any, knowledge of its context, architectural technology and sustainability applications. The resultant 'Report' is therefore incorrect and is fundamentally flawed. Provides evidence of little or no technical skill that demonstrates little, if any, knowledge of its context, architectural technology and sustainability applications. The resultant 'Report' is therefore incomplete, confusing and is fundamentally flawed. 20% "An ability to research, analyse and integrate appropriate building services, environmentally sustainable technologies, structural systems, and construction solutions into advanced building design." Demonstrated ability to effectively produce a 'Report' that:  Responds to the brief. DAH811 – Architectural Design 8 Project 2 - Assessment and FeedbackProvides an extraordinary level of technical thinking and integration that intelligently and creatively responds to the brief. Provides a very high level of technical thinking and integration that intelligently demonstrates an advanced response to the brief. Provides a high level of technical thinking and integration that demonstrates a moderate response to the brief. Provides a satisfactory level of technical thinking and integration that demonstrates an adequate response to the brief. Provides evidence of limited and/or disconnected technical thinking and integration that demonstrates an inappropriate response to the brief. Provides evidence of minimal or inferior technical thinking and integration that demonstrates little, if any, response to the brief. Provides evidence of little or no technical thinking and integration that demonstrates little, if any, response of the brief. 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 30% "An ability to resolve a complex architectural design problem, through critical, creative and analytical thinking that demonstrates your understanding of cities as a context, and the forces shaping their development." Demonstrated ability to effectively produce a 'Report' that:  Is responsive to the Schematic Design of Project 1. Provides an outstanding level of technical skill that intelligently and creatively demonstrates a thorough addition to the Schematic Design. The resultant 'Report' and Schematic Design are therefore dramatically enhanced in all regards and has no defects or clashes. Provides an very high level of technical skill that intelligently demonstrates an advanced addition to the Schematic Design. The resultant 'Report' and Schematic Design are therefore applicably enhanced in almost all regards and has a few flaws and conflicts. Provides a high level of technical skill that demonstrates a sensible addition to the Schematic Design. The resultant 'Report' and Schematic Design are therefore frequently enhanced but has some flaws and conflicts. Provides an conventional level of technical skill that demonstrates a acceptable addition to the Schematic Design. The resultant 'Report' and Schematic Design are therefore somewhat enhanced and has numerous mistakes and conflicts. Provides evidence of limited and/or detached technical skill that demonstrates an unsuitable addition to the Schematic Design. The resultant 'Report' and Schematic Design are therefore incorrectly enhanced and has numerous fundamental flaws and conflicts. Provides evidence of minimal or substandard technical skill that demonstrates little, if any, addition to the Schematic Design. The resultant 'Report' and Schematic Design are therefore inappropriately enhanced and is fundamentally flawed. Provides evidence of little or no technical skill that demonstrates little, if any, addition to the Schematic Design. The resultant 'Report' and Schematic Design are therefore not enhanced is incomplete, confusing and profoundly flawed.
