Assessment 2A- Statement of Intent: The organisation in which I have selected for my Global Public Relations Plan is The Kraft Heinz Company. The H.J Heinz Company is the subsidiary company representing The Kraft Heinz Company in Australia. Founded in 1935, H.J Heinz's headquarters in Australia is located in Southbank Victoria. Originating from America, The Kraft Heinz Company is the fifth largest food and beverage company in the world. They produce and sell packaged and canned food products that are high in quality, tasty and nutritional for customers in Australia and all around the world. Some of their products include; beans, pasta, soups and dressings, vegetables, baby food, chicken, desserts, ready meals and gluten free products. A list of the organizations key publics include; Partners, shareholders, customers and business partners, employees and the communities involved with Heinz. The company focuses majorly on conducting its operations in the most ethically responsible way. They also believe in being a responsible corporate citizen in the communities in which it and its Business Units operate. A current issue Kraft Heinz is facing is the increase in competition within the Australian grocery market industry. Kraft Heinz is a big supplier and contributes roughly $90 billion to the Australian grocery market and supermarkets such as Coles and Woolworths. Reports are indicating that Kellogg's is taking the lead and passing with increasing figures. Recently, The Australian Competition and Consumers Commission has taken action against Heinz over nutritional claims on food for 1-3 year olds. The ACCC has commenced proceedings in the Federal Court in relation to its Little Kids Shredz products as they believe Heinz has made false and misleading representations in relation to this product. This is a major issue Heinz need to deal with. A strong and well - structured global public relations plan, can help the CEO of Heinz better understand and deal with the issue. The Kraft Heinz Company I believe is a very reliable company to study further and write a global public relations plan on. It not only has a large and expanding position in the Australian market, it is also holds a significant positon internationally. http://www.heinz.com/our-company/ethics-and-compliance/global-operating-principles.aspx http://www.encyclopedia.com/topic/H.J._Heinz_Company.aspx http://www.theage.com.au/business/retail/kraft-heinz-says-australian-grocery-market-increasingly-competitive-20160805-gqmg8b.html https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/accc-takes-action-against-heinz-over-nutritional-claims-on-food-for-1-3-year-olds
