This assignment relates to the following of the overall subject objectives:
(a) understand the social impact of information technology and the social responsibility of IT
professionals;
(b) critically review the IT profession's Codes of Ethics and Codes of Conduct, and develop
a personal ethical framework;
(c) understand the role of the IT professional and the legal and moral responsibility they
have to that profession and society;
(e) demonstrate improved writing skills.
Your Task
You are asked to produce a reflection of approximately 10-15 pages Times New Roman 11 Font 1.5
spacing, number all pages (this does not including the title, table of contents and appendix pages if
included) on what you have learned during the semester.
The reflection must form a coherent, structured work. You may show references (Harvard style) to
web site, books and journals but it is your ability to discuss the subject matter and how you have
developed that knowledge which matters.
The file name should be "ass4_surname_firstname.doc", and submit a file into "Assignment 4" in
"Turnitin Assignment" folder. If the file name is wrong then the assignment won't be marked.
Please not that you do NOT NEED TO SUBMIT A HARD COPY TO YOUR TUTOR.
Also a detective program will check your assignment report. If the program detects over 20% of copy
statements from other sources then you will receive ZERO marks. So you should provide references in
any case.
Obviously what you have learned will be different from what others have learned.
You must discuss your learning experiences (not including ass1 discussion forum) through
- Lectures and tutorials
- Ass2 presentations (week 10-14) from other groups
When reflecting on what you have learned you should consider questions below:
• what you already knew: what was position on ethics at the start.
