You are asked to maintain a learning portfolio that provides a running record of your consistent and regular engagement in this course and evidence of your learning and achievement. This may include a collection of the digital badges you have earned by successfully completing subject work, screenshots of results in online tasks as part of MA1022, digital copies of completed written MA1022 exercises, or a combination of these. You may wish to regularly upload screen shots or other evidence of your consistent MA1022 work to the PebblePad tab on the MA1022 LearnJCU site throughout the semester in order to satisfy the requirements of this course. How to take a screenshot of your work You can take a screen shot or screen grab of your online work using various methods depending on the type of computer you use. Some common methods are given below. 1. With a PC (Windows) computer: a. Pressing the Control PrtScn (Printscreen) keys together – copies the entire content of your screen. After taking a copy, you can paste this into another file such as a Word or Paint file. Paint can be accessed from Start>Programs>Accessories. After pasting your Printscreen, you can edit and save your file in document or picture formats. b. Snipping Tool (Snip) – this program that can be accessed from Start>Programs>Accessories. Once the snipping tool is highlighted, it is possible to select a small section of your screen and save it as a separate file. It is also possible to copy and paste the image into other files. The snipping tool is not available in all versions of Windows. 2. With a Mac (Apple) computer: a. Pressing Command Shift 4 keys together – Your screen cursor will turn into a small rectangle. You can click and highlight the area of the screen you'd like a copy of. Letting go of the mouse copies this section and saves it as a picture on your desktop. You can then access, copy and save your picture through your desktop. b. Grab Utility Method (Grab) – this program can be accessed via Applications>Utilities>Grab. Click the 'Capture' screen and choose the option you would like (copy a screen, selection or window). Follow the instructions and click 'Save' to record your file. Whatever way you choose to take a screenshot of your online work, don't forget to save your files!
