2.1 Methods and participants The methodology of this survey focus on the mission statement of New Zealand top 100 companies concerns with climate change and environment related topics. The research studied their mission statement regarding with climate change, sustainability, Co2 emission, recycling, transport and energy. Every company profile was surveyed through websites. 2.2 Data collection Qualitative and quantitative data collection approach was use in the survey to find the mission statement of the top 100 New Zealand companies. Environmental issues & sustainability in New Zealand areas, Climate change and the top hundred companies of New Zealand are the focused subject matter. All the mission statement of 100 companies was searched using Key words regarding with environmental topics and develop into word document. Further the stored word document was transformed into excel sheet for systematic presentation and analysis. 2.2.1 Materials or Apparatus Internet is the primary source of information throughout the research to collect primary data required. The top 100 Companies reports and their environment related mission statement on their websites are the secondary source of information used to collect data for the survey. Ms Word and Excel program are used for storage, scientific analysis and presentation of the report. 2.3 Data analysis and Procedure The collected information was analysed, statistically tested and presented in scientific way (Marder, 20011). Qualitative information was analysed through average scoring and the result was presented through the use of Frequency table. Average scoring figure out which companies are actually involving on environmental issues and which are not involving. Quantitative data was used to calculate standard errors and presented statistically as column chart. The data collected from the company websites was analysed by comparing the mission statement of each company. Search function was used in Ms Word to find the number of times the repetition of key words. Ranking of the company was done according to the highest repetition frequency of environmental key words. Conclusions and recommendations are made after findings the result that the 100 companies are aware of environmental topics or they are green-washing. 2.4 Limitations The specific timeline and small sample size are two major limitations of this research. The data collected from the internet are not liable source because, no one can find exactly what the companies are practicing or just using those statement for their fame only. Climate change is a major cogenerate issue faced by the world due to uneven process of natural and human activities. According to Moore & Smith (1995) people responds with climate change and transfer from small island to the United States, Australia and New Zealand would create the shortage and degradation of natural resources. Comprehensive Community Initiatives (CCIs) starts to emerges to fight back with the environmental problems as a volunteer, commercial or governmental organisation with specific aims (Born, 2012). CCIs groups are quiet impressive in society, some of them are committed in their motto but some of them are just green-washing
