Purpose Statement: Power utilization will be expanding throughout the globe. Those existing system for transmitting power through transmission grid may be wasteful. My interest in the subject is to find an improved solution to this problem with the knowledge which I am gaining in this course. The purpose is to apply my knowledge learnt from this course in a fruitful manner so that I could give a positive value to the society needs. The topic of interest requires me to go deeper into the future problems of energy so that I may become aware of the problems in the industry related to this course and offer solutions. B. Learning Outcomes: I will be able to provide evidence that I can: (Suggest three to six learning outcomes only) 1. Identify the existing electricity problems in NZ and around the world relating to costly and wasteful electricity grids transmitting electricity through lines and its impact on health and safety of human beings and animals. 2. Investigate the existing system of supplying electricity E.g. whether the existing system will be able to meet the needs of the increasing population on this planet. 3. To offer the best solution to the existing problems by evaluating various alternative means such as solar power and wireless transmission. Analyse and Evaluate the findings. 4. To recommend the best solution which will be the most suitable solution to the future survival of this planet and its people. C. Course Content: During this course I will be studying the following areas of interest: (Describe the area of interest in more detail) 1. Identify the existing way of transmission of electricity through grids which is a inefficient way of supplying it. I will investigate and identify the cause of the problems. 2. The findings above will help me to explain and describe the pros and cons of the existing method of generating and supplying electricity though grids. The area of focus may be the high cost, health hazards, wasteful loss, spoiling the landscape. 3. Explain the research being done around the world to find a solution to minimise the existing problems and maximise the productive way of producing electricity at minimum cost. One of the developments i will be looking at is the wireless transmission technology. 4. Investigate and indicate the supportive policies of the various Governments around the world to encourage the development of alternative sources of producing electricity. D.
