Assignment title: Information
Scenario:
The Village GP, local health professionals and specialists at Hopetoun Hospital are seeking to improve the service they provide for older residents with chronic health problems. Currently, each medical centre or practice maintains records and patient information which is communicated by letter, telephone or more frequently of late, by email. Much of this information could be more efficiently and securely communicated with the introduction of an automated medical records system. As the health informatics professional, it is your responsibility to coordinate the development and introduction of an electronic system. This will include identifying and discussing benefits, issues and concerns with stakeholders.
If you have not already done so, you should read the information under the heading Studying E-health on the Graduate Program page.
Details about the Regional Health Service and The Village Community Health Centre can be found at:

Assignment 3 Spreading the news:
You have been most interested in the response of various stakeholders to the proposal. Your research suggests that their views are consistent with broader stakeholder perceptions about the advantages and challenges of electronic health records. Since stakeholder acceptance is crucial to successful implementation, you have decided to seek feedback on the implications of these views, particularly where there may be disagreements. You have decided to write a conference paper for the next Health Informatics Conference. The title of your paper will be:
"A critical analysis of stakeholder perspectives on the electronic health record and/or the PCEHR"
You are going to submit the paper as a full scientific, peer reviewed paper. It will need to conform to the guidelines for this category.
