Managing Digital Design Assignments 1 & 2 Google Doc Setup 1. Google Docs In this course, all assignments will be submitted via Google Docs. Working in a team, you will often need to collaborate with several colleagues on the same document, which makes keeping track of files on a computer difficult and often leads to work getting lost or completed twice because of poor version tracking. Online services, such as Google Docs, help keep everyone organised by allowing users to create and edit documents in their Web browser, ensuring everyone has the latest version of a document at all times. Because everyone sees the same document at once, there's no chance of editing the wrong version and undoing someone else's work. 1.1 Login or Sign Up to Google Docs Go to the following address: http://docs.google.com If you already have a Google account, sign in using your credentials. If you don't, or if you wish to start a new account for your UniSA work, select Create Account. Once you log in, you'll see a screen similar to the one below: 1.2 Open Assignment Template Document Next, open the Assignment template document provided to you. Assignment 1 Template Google Document https://lo.unisa.edu.au/mod/url/view.php?id=719247 Assignment 2 Template Google Document https://lo.unisa.edu.au/mod/url/view.php?id=719250 These documents provide you with a suggested structure for your assignments to ensure you meet all the criteria. 1.3 Make a Copy of the Document To make a copy of the document, select File > Make a Copy… 1.3 Share the Document Next, select the Share button at the top-right of the window to bring up the Share With Others popup. Here, enter the following email addresses in the People Field, ensuring "Can Edit" is selected in the dropdown. ● [email protected][email protected] Also make sure you provide your name in the message box. Select Send to share this document when finished.
