The benefits associated with using sustainable practices in colleges reduce energy cost, offset local greenhouse gas emissions and contributing a smaller carbon footprint. Task In this course work, each student is required to prepare a magazine style article on sustainable development initiatives in the ICEM campus, including higher education and vocational departments. The article should be designed in typical magazine format in 1500 words. The content may essentially include pictures, tabulated data, graphs, diagrams, captions etc. where ever possible in support of the information presented. The magazine article should focus on the following points below: 1) The article should begin with a brief introductory note on sustainable development. 2) Areas of energy utilization and developing sustainable alternatives/strategies that can be adopted in different sectors. 3) Management of different forms of waste generated in the campus 4) Comment how occupants need to contribute to achieve the goals of sustainable development and utilization of energy. 5) In conclusion, document how communities, occupants and public are informed to create awareness on the sustainable practices being adopted in the campus. 6) You should support the article with previous literature derived from appropriate academic sources to substantiate the claim or recommendations made on sustainable initiatives. Guidelines: 1. You are advised to refer some sample magazines/books in the college library for an idea on the design and format of magazine articles. 2. You must refer to reliable academic literature sources to support your thoughts, ideas, recommendations etc. on the article. 3. Line spacing 1.5 with normal margins on all four sides of word document. 4. The entire course (text, captions, pictures, photos, statistics and table) should be printed in black and white, while no additional marks will be allotted if submitted in colour. 5. Article text should be word processed, typed in A4 paper size in Times New Roman fonts with 12 point while captions should be sentence case. 6. Content headings should be Times New Roman font with 14 point, bold and capitalize each word. 7. The article should have a clear distinctive heading in conjunction to the text. Red Alert: Harvard style referencing and citations standards should be followed. It is extremely important that students correctly paraphrase all sources, pictures, tables, statistics and direct quotations. Also mention the word count at the end of the report.
