Assignment title: Information

Jean Piaget proposed a step-wise sequence of mental development during childhood. Provide an overview of Piaget's core ideas, discussing the evidence for and against these ideas. This assignment will require you to develop a plan for your second major assignment in this course, the essay on a topic in Personality Psychology. You will need to select your essay topic and write a plan for your essay. This plan will indicate how you will address the topic and what information you will be including to address the topic. A significant part of the plan will be learning how to search for academic references, giving a brief summary of the references and using APA style referencing correctly. Research and referencing skills are an essential skill for university studies. More information for this will be provided in class and you will need to also visit and learn how to use the UniSA library information databases. Please see useful links in the resources section of the course homepage. While you may refer to general psychology textbooks for basic definitions you should use a minimum of 5 primary academic sources (which will be added to for your essay), such as academic journal articles and specialised academic books. These sources are available from the UniSA library databases and more information in searching for such references will be given in the first two classes. • Topic analysis • Coherence and structure of plan • Clarity of expression • Adherence to word length (800 words) • Use and relevance of references and adherence to APA style in-text and in the reference list.
