Scenario Imagine that you have been appointed as a Cross Cultural Advisor for academic staff at the University of Wollongong (UOW). As a graduate of this University, you are familiar with student and staff demographics and characteristics of UOW. To ensure a more productive learning environment between staff and students in UOW's Faculty of Business, the Executive Dean has asked you to write a report on how staff could enhance their skills as cross-cultural active listeners when dealing with students from other cultural backgrounds. In a business report for the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business, using relevant theories and examples: 1. Define active listening in a cross-cultural context 2. Explain the significance of active listening for cross-cultural communication 3. Identify four key strategies for staff to advance their cross-cultural active listening skills when dealing with students from other cultures 4. Identify four key strategies for students to advance their cross-cultural active listening skills when dealing with students from other cultures 5. Identify four key strategies you need to personally adopt to enhance your cross-cultural active listening skill when dealing with students and staff from other cultures. The criteria for evaluating your report are listed below under Additional Assessment Information and are also on the MGNT978 Moodle site Your report should be formatted as a business report. The report should thus contain a title page, an executive summary, an introduction, a body (addressing the five key issues listed above), recommendations and a conclusion, followed by your reference list and any appendices you deem necessary. Support your analysis with reference to key sections in the Deresky textbook, and a minimum of 4 references from peer-reviewed academic journal articles published between 2010 and 2016. Write an individual report or in pairs (maximum 2 people) using relevant cross-cultural management theories. If your report is done in pairs, each member should provide an annotated bibliography of one of the references they have provided. Each annotated bibliographic reference should be no longer than 150 words (excluding the reference source details). Each person will write 1 X 150 word annotated bibliography. If you choose to write an individual report, write 2 annotated bibliographies. Include the annotated bibliographies as an appendix to your report. The report should be typed, 1.5 spaced, 11 point font with 2.5 cm margins on all sides. Headings are encouraged in business reports. I have chose to do individual report.
