Define Research Problem – There are two types of research problems- one which relate to the states of nature and those which relate to relationship between variables. Step 2 Review the literature which includes theories and previous research findings

Step 3 Formulate hypothesis which should be very specific and limited to the piece of research because it has to be tested.

Step 4 Design Research including sample design – The function of research design is to provide for the collection of relevant evidence. The researcher must decide the way of selecting a sample.

Step 5 Collect Data – Primary data can be collected either through experiment or through survey. Primary data can be collected by any one or more of the following ways – - By Observation - Through personal interview - Through telephone interviews - By mailing of questionnaire - Through schedules

Step 6 Analyze Data and test hypothesis – The analysis of data requires a number of closely related operations such as establishment of categories, the application of these categories to raw data through coding, tabulation and drawing statistical inferences. The second task is to find out whether the facts support the hypothesis which result is accepting or rejecting the hypothesis.

Step 7 – Interpret and report – Recommendations and conclusion
