ABSTRACT The purpose of this article is to share and represent the results of implementation of the Stuck Pipe Prevention Rules for each well during the planning and execution period of well life per Field. This article This paper aims to share how this is being efficiently executed with commendable results in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In addition, it would highlight some of the challenges faced in terms of planning and execution while sharing the experiences gained from successful execution of this holistic well delivery approach for the benefit of other operators in the region. INTRODUCTION Stuck pipe is getting one of the industrial wide attentions, and remain a major headache in drilling safety and performance. This major problem caused between $4 M to $8 M occurs in most of ADCO's wells each year and became one of the most serious drilling problems. The best way to avoid this risk is to predict the stuck pipe with estimating drilling parameters which can be employed to modify drilling variables. Stuck Pipe Prevention Rules were initiated according to the fact that these methods are applicable when relationships of parameters are too complicated. That's why, ADCO came up with new mythology, These methods are generally covers all data which was gathered from ADCO data base & from international stuck pipe courses provided by well-known & qualified companies that allow us to generate a standard main guidelines to cover all require knowledge for any drilling engineer and drilling supervisor to be aware of which include stuck pipe sign, causes, indicators and preventions. With the support of our colleagues and managements, Stuck Pipe team is gladly to introduce and announce the SP2R (SPPR "Stuck Pipe Prevention Rules") to ADCO. SP2R is a challenged between the new young blood to create a mixture of new ideas with the support of the experience drilling masters to give the birth of new practice and techniques, which will be to the Drilling Engineers & Supervisors on enhance the awareness and add value in improving operations and business outcomes. Drilling any well require to design a drill string which will be able to transmit the applied torque provided at the surface to rotate the assign bit & transfer the applied weight to drill the formation. During this process, driller with the support of directional engineer will require to steer the well by adjusting the torque, pulling & rotating the drill string. Stuck pipe occur when the drill string no longer free to move up or down or even rotate which mostly happen generally during drilling, making connections, logging, testing, resulting a massive work lead to spend a big amount of money, losing productive time, or may result in leaving a very expensive and source tool in the hole or maybe eventually abandonment and loss the well. ADCO has a specific strategy for this topic which is to Prevent stuck Pipe Occurrence at ADCO wells by enhancing the awareness of stuck pipe indicators and keep tracking all stuck pipe incidents for the last four year, classify it based on criticality, share the detailed statistics with DD & try to focus on the specific area that takes the majority of stuck occurrence. Stuck Pipe is treated as HSE Incident because people are exposed to potential drop objects, equipment operated at limit and people are exposed to potential pressure release and/or Acid. Also because Environment could be impacted by lost radioactive source The message from this rules is that Stuck Pipe can be avoided if: • SP² R are adequately implemented. • Right practice for hole cleaning, tripping and connection are applied. • Effect supervision. SP2R generally The revolution of SP2R will not stop at this point; as it will be spirited starting by ADCO by preparing and distributing SP2R posters to all ADCO rigs and offices, prepare a huge workshops were all ADCO employee will be invited to join and participate in this workshops to share their knowledge and then will be exposed this piece of art worldwide.
