ASSIGNMENT Research Project: Case study You are assistance manager in UK Eco-Travel Limited. One of your most important tasks is your involvement in your organisation research planning in improving their customer care. In an environment of increasing competition between high street travel agents and with independent travel agent such knowledge will be valuable. In this research project the choice of organisation is the student; but the students must choose one that he/she is familiar with or a well-known organization as information regarding the organization would be easier to obtain. Before attempting to cover all the assessment criteria, the students must show secondary sources (e.g to introduce the organization chosen, explain the role in the organization etc). The students are encouraged to carry out primary research in their chosen organization (e.g encounter between the customer and travel agency and also counter staff; improving understanding of social interaction and communications between customers, quality management of the organisation etc). The students are anticipated to show proper research skills, be capable to make recommendations based on a sound and in-depth analysis of data gathered and to present the research findings in a proper format. (approx 3,000 words). Note: Plagiarism from other projects or student's projects or online resources will not be tolerated. Copies from websites will not be accepted. All quotations need to be clearly mentioned and a bibliography and a reference system in place according to Harvard reference system or as used on social sciences. Task 1: Understand how to formulate a research specification: (approx 500 words). 1. Formulate and record probable research project outline specifications (you are expected to elucidate your choice of research question, the goals and objectives of the research, and the methodology you plan to employ for data analysis and collection 2. Identify the factors that contribute to the process of research project selection. ( you are expected to show the procedure of successful research project selection). 3. Undertake a critical review of key references. (you are anticipated to critically review at least one of the sources of references that you have listed in your reference list) 4. Produce a research of project specification 5. Provide an appropriate plan and procedures for the agreed research specification Task 2: Be able to implement the research project in agreed procedures and to specification: (approx 1000 words). 1. Match resources efficiently to the research question or hypothesis. (you are expected to use proper resources for addressing the chosen research question or hypothesis) 2. Undertake proposed research investigation in accordance with the agreed specification and procedures. (i.e. in your chosen research). 3. Record and collate relevant data where appropriate. (you are expected to collect applicable data where appropriate in respect of the chosen research project) Task 3: Be able to evaluate the research outcomes: (approx 1000 words). 1. Use appropriate research evaluation technique. 2. Interpret and analyse the results in terms of the original research specification 3. Make recommendations and justify areas for further consideration Task 4: Be able to present the research outcomes: (approx 500 words). 1. Use an agreed format and appropriate media to present the outcomes of the research to an audience. (N/B: to meet this requirement, in addition you must either produce a short PowerPoint presentation or write a presentation outline listing and explaining what you would be presenting
