This assessment requires you to implement a marketing program as defined in a marketing plan. This assessment may be undertaken in the following format On the job. Using real clients, products and services. Please discuss this opportunity with your assessor prior to commencing the task, to ensure appropriateness to unit. You will be required to use a marketing plan that applies to your current workplace, and allow your assessor to undertake observations during this period · Classroom / Simulated environment. Your assessor may present a business, an "imaginary company" or the college as your client You may use the marketing plan developed in BSBMKG502B, or one provided by your assessor Your assessor will play the role of the supervisor, client and stakeholders throughout the assessment. You must ensure all dealings with your "assessor" are professional, as you will be assessed throughout the full process. You may refer to another marketing opportunity with approval from your assessor Regardless of which format you choose to undertake this assessment, you are to: Access, read and comply with the process as outlined in the marketing plan Develop a thorough implementation plan for each step of the process Provide final copies of all marketing mediums used (layouts for print ads, scripts for radio / television ads, etc) Provide accurate costs and schedules for each marketing process used. Provide details of real companies / people you will be working with in your implementation (i.e. - who will print the brochures, who will train the staff, etc) Provide details for all resources required (supplier, cost, availability, resource details, etc) Run an implementation meeting (which will involve your assessor) to ensure all stakeholders / personnel are briefed of marketing schedule, their involvement and responsibilities, etc Your detailed implementation plans will include · Communication strategies to ensure people work together · KPI's including expected outcomes (including dates) for each step · Specific details on how you will monitor each process, including the strategy and tactics used Don't forget to make sure your implementation outlay sticks within your original budget ASSESSMENT 1 – ASSESSOR INSTRUCTIONS These instructions must be followed when assessing the student in this unit. The checklist on the following page is to be completed for each student. Please refer to separate mapping document for specific details relating to alignment of this task to the unit requirements. Hand out and explain the Student Information Form and allow opportunities for the student ask questions Assess the candidates' submissions / observations using the following checklist This assessment may be undertaken in the following formats: · On the job. These assessments must: o using a registered and operating workplace o ensure access to customers relevant to the work role and unit requirements o ensure access to staff members / colleagues / clients o ensure access to relevant, working and current tools and equipment as appropriate to the unit requirement o ensure access to an appropriate marketing plan, and authority to implement the plan · Classroom / Simulated environment. These assessments must o As outlined in the TAA04 Training Package Glossary, ""Simulation is a form of evidence gathering that involves the candidate in completing or dealing with a task, activity or problem in an off-the-job situation that replicates the workplace context. Simulations vary from recreating realistic workplace situations such as in the use of flight simulators, through the creation of role plays based on workplace scenarios to the reconstruction of a business situation on a spreadsheet. In developing simulations, the emphasis is not so much on reproducing the external circumstance but on creating situations in which candidates are able to demonstrate: § technical skills § underpinning knowledge § generic skills such as decision making and problem solving § workplace practices such as effective communication." o If role plays are required, the assessor must ensure all 'actors' or 'participants' perform in a professional manner - reflecting an actual workplace. Participants are to be informed of their expected involvement. o If a simulated workplace is used, it must allow for distractions such as background noises, ringing telephones, interruptions - etc. o Each student must dress appropriately and professionally in line with workplace standards o Either use the college as the client, or present another "business" for the student to refer to as the client. Remember - the assessor is to role-play the client in all areas requiring client contact ensuring you allow the student the opportunity to ask further questions. However, when interviewed by your student, be sure not lead the candidate, but only answer the questions asked. If the candidate has asked only part of a question, you are to only answer the part that was asked, and must not assume the rest would be required. This is to ensure each candidate can take control of the information required for the purpose of this task o For each student, they will require access to a marketing plan. Students can either utilise the marketing plan as developed in BSBMKG502B, or another plan as provided by the assessor. A sample Marketing Plan has been provided with this unit. · For each assessment, you are not to interfere. In the event that the assessment is activities will impact on the safety of a student or bystander, the assessment must be stopped immediately
