Assignment title: Management
The short essay (500 words) will focus on your ability to communicate in a formal written format and provide an introduction to academic writing. The essay will be used to evaluate your written communication skill level and provide feedback to assist in developing your writing skills further. In particular, this subject will provide access to a key learning adviser from LTSE. The LTSE staff member can help you navigate to those Writing Skills exercises that will best assist you in improving your written skills. The essay should: Have an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion; Have a minimum of two scholarly sources in your APA Reference List, with at least one of those being a reading from the required Essay reading folder (within the Assessment area on the subject's Learn JCU site) and one being the subject's textbook; Be presented in Times New Roman Font (font size 12) with 1.5 line spacing with a title page and with the references starting on a separate page. A draft version of your essay should be submitted: To get feedback, a draft version of your essay should be submitted by 11:59pm on Monday 15th August. Remember, it can be submitted earlier than this if you'd like your feedback earlier to give more time to redraft the final version. Submission is electronically via "Your Tutor" Once you receive feedback (within 24hours) you will have a few days to make corrections and changes before submitting your final version. Keep the feedback provided from "Your Tutor" as you need to attach it to the back of the hard copy of your finalised essay. The finalised essay must be submitted in TWO places: 1. An electronic version of your short essay must be submitted through the SafeAssign Submission Point which is accessible via the Assessment area in the subject's Learn JCU site. Your essay must be submitted via SafeAssign so as it can be checked for plagiarism. This electronic copy is due by 5pm on Friday 19th of August 2016. 2. A hardcopy version of your short essay attached to a completed Business assignment cover sheet must be submitted to the 3rd floor College of Business, Law & Governance Assignment Box by 5.00pm on Friday 19th of August 2016. The feedback on your draft also needs to be stapled to the back of this hardcopy version. This essay based assessment piece will also be available for optional resubmission in Week 10 of the study period for those who wish to take the opportunity to rewrite it. This opportunity presents you with the potential of improving your initial essay mark and demonstrating that you are advancing your written skills. This optional resubmit will be due by 5pm on Wednesday 5th of October via BOTH safe assignment and with a hardcopy to the assignment box on Level 3 of the Business Building (27).
