Assignment title: Management
CCoursework PIMS – 2016/7
Coursework is based on the Extreme Engineering Film, Hong Kong's New Airport.
You should form teams of four or five (but no larger than 6) to undertake this coursework project. Please list the names of your team together with a name for the team and give it to the class representative. You should nominate a team leader.
Each team will develop a project plan/schedule for one of the major projects of this undertaking in Hong Kong. The plan Comprise around 50 - 60 activities. Your work should include:
• A work breakdown structure
• A network for the activities – to include activity durations – use Microsoft Project
• Show a critical path – with an overall time which should fit with the 'transfer to China' date
• Include a full CPM/PERT analysis using the additions of distributions as shown
• Include a risk analysis showing the results of a Monte Carlo Simulation using @Risk. Here you should identify the date by which you believe the project will be completed using a % measure.
• Modify your plan to achieve a 90% probability of completing the project in time – using PERT/CPM and @Risk
• Form a risk register for your project – 20 risks – include their likelihoods and Impacts!
You should use your best estimates for activities – the film will not provide most of these.
The reports will be in PowerPoint format which you can use for your presentations. You will be marked as a group.
