assignment is intended to help students prepare for their professional development and employability skills. Students will be expected to identify and apply self-awareness techniques to set themselves targets within the workplace so that they can maximise their opportunities with a prospective employer.
ASSESSMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Task 1
Following the first year work experience module where you were required to assess and evaluate your employability skills using the Personal Development Plan booklet and
work experience logbook you should now be clearer about where you are with your
personal development/employability skills.
Review and revise development objectives against personal and professional aspirations. To do this successfully you will need to critically evaluate individual progress in the achievement of personal and professional objectives set to-date from year one. (Review your Personal Development Plan booklet and your Work Experience
Diary.) Consider any opportunities to identify any managerial/ supervisor characteristics.
Please ensure that you refer to the appropriate National Occupational Standards for the
Leisure/sport sector.
Task2
Following task one each candidate is required to create a professional development plan, based on the review in Task 1. To make this as realistic as possible you are required to identify a particular job role within the golf industry that interests you and create a detailed plan that would allow you to apply for such a job.
All students are also encouraged to plan, organize, run and review one Golf Tournament prior to the presentation, which should be used as a source for Continuous Professional Development (CPO). Students are required to work as a team throughout and reflect upon the success of the event using a variety of feedback sources. This opportunity will provide each student to develop any of the targets identified following Task1.
It is recommended that students use a SWOT Analysis- S(strengths) W(Weaknesses) O(Opportunities) T(Threats) and peer assessment to analyze their performance in the following areas:

• Listening
• Bodylanguage
• Questioning skills
• Written
• IT

Students should also set - personal, professional and career objectives and include various strategies for development. Also include how you will monitor your progress, review and set achievement dates.
ASSESSMENT
The presentation should be15-20 minutes in duration. This will conducted within the class to your peers and the tutor. Please ensure that you include your bibliography as part of the powerpoint. Students will lose marks for going over or under allocated time slots. (10% reduction overall marks)
