Assignment title: Management

(cost and implementation ideas form ewbchallenge.org.) 4.0 Design concept (Designer) 4.1 Design description Start with an overview followed by a discussion of the various aspects and components in more detail. Mention general construction, materials, functionality, required equipment, etc. referring to your diagram/s and or photos of your prototype or design provided below. You should include clearly labelled pictures of your design, or drawings, that you think convey your design best. Include a clear explanation of how your design is innovative and/or original. How does it differ from existing technologies in use? Or how does your design concept adapt, or modify/improve, an existing technology? 4.2 Implementation Explain how your design will be implemented in the community. This should include how your design will be introduced, any education or training that may be required, and consideration of any ongoing maintenance. 4.3 Costs Provide an estimate of the cost of your design in local currency. Details of costs can be found on the EWB Challenge home page. (Scroll down to the Resources section.) 4.4 Describe the remaining limitations and possible improvements for your finished design.   WATER FILTER DESIGN This water filter design is simple, portable and easy to use. It consists of two vessels: - 1) Vessel one (For impure water) 2) Vessel two (For collecting pure water) (Figure-1) First vessel is the vessel which will contain impure water, Gravel, Charcoal and sand. It is shown in figure-1. The total height of this vessel is 285 mm and diameter is 142 mm and at the bottom 20 mm hole opening is being given from where the pure water will pass to second vessel. At the bottom of first vessel a cotton cloth can be tied that will help to sieve clean water through. It will stop the sand to pass through in second vessel. The material used for making first vessel is polyethylene terephthalate (PET). It is a type of plastic. I have chosen this material because it is both strong and light weight. At the bottom of first vessel I have made two step cuts. These step cuts will be helpful for tying the cloth tightly. I have used solid works software for designing these vessels. Firstly, I have made the 2D sketch of the vessel and then after this I have selected the revolve boss feature then selected the centre line and then sketch after this our first vessel 3D model is completed. Second vessel design is similar to the pot design because it has the capacity to store large amount of water. It is shown in figure-2. This water vessel is used for collecting pure water coming out of first water vessel. The total height of this vessel is 260 mm and diameter of this vessel is 372.63 mm. The opening or mouth of second vessel is 142.40 mm diameter. The material used for making this vessel is same as of first vessel material that is polyethylene terephthalate (PET). This vessel is also designed in solid works software with same method by making 2D sketch and then using revolve feature for converting the sketch in 3D. I have also made 2D drawing to the first vessel, second vessel and assembly drawing in which all the dimensions are shown. (Figure-2) The assembly of both the water vessels can be can be easily done as shown in figure-3 First vessel will rest on second vessel. The Assembly is done in solid works by selecting first vessel and second vessels .The total height of the assembly is 468.51 mm. The total weight of both the vessels are 720.91 gram. (Figure- 3)
