Criteria • quality and relevance of research • comprehensiveness of the issues evaluated • communication and professional presentation Generic skill assessed Skill assessment level Communication Graduate Problem solving Graduate Information literacy Graduate Criteria Presentation • report format as per Summers and Smith • no Letter of Transmittal required but do require an Executive Summary Referencing • Harvard preferred Communication • Spelling, punctuation, grammar, expression• Introduction (approx. 400 words) • Clear statement of purpose • Background to the research problem o briefly present the circumstances that have led to the immediate problem o why it is worthy of investigation - expected benefits • Clear statement of RQ and objectives Literature review and analysis (800 to 1000 words) • overviews the current state of knowledge relevant to the RQ and objectives • relevant academic & practitioner based literature (min of 10 refs including a mix of academic journals and practitioner sources) • analytical not descriptive. Methodology (approx. 500words) • what is the approach being taken to address the RQ and research objectives • justify why this approach is most appropriate • if gathering primary data detail specific method, sampling/selection of respondents etc Proposed analysis (approx. 200 words) • outline approach to analysis – consider developing dummy tables or figures
