ASSESSMENT TASK 1: INITIAL LEARNING BRIEF Aligned course learning outcomes CLO 9-1 Evaluate complex conflict and related theories and standards for professional practice in CMR CLO 9-5 Independently and critically reflect on and assess their own capabilities and performance and make use of feedback as appropriate, to support personal and professional development. Group or individual Individual Weighting 10% Due date 27 February 2017 DESCRIPTION The ILB has three main aims: To help you reflect on your learning in this subject it is useful to get a 'baseline' of where you are now and what you hope to achieve. The ILB provides you with a structured opportunity to consider what you already know about the topic of the subject; To provide you with some introductory readings to assist you to understand the material that will be covered in the subject; To provide your trainers with some information about you and your expectations for the course. To complete the ILB you need to answer the four questions listed below. Each response should be a minimum of 250 words long but no longer than 500 words. You are required to Submit ONE word document with ALL FOUR responses to the ILB SafeAssign folder on LearnJCU. Please submit your paper in Microsoft Word format (not PDF) to enable comments to be made on the submission if required. Your paper must include a CMR Cover Sheet as the first page of your document. The cover sheet is available under the Assessment link in the LearnJCU main menu. Upload your answers to the ILB discussion board forum on LearnJCU. This is to assist students in sharing some information about themselves and exchanging ideas with their fellow students and will provide an opportunity for you to learn a little bit about your peer and the subject area. To prepare yourself for answering the ILB questions and get a better understanding of what this subject is about, we recommend you look at the Subject Description, Course Learning Outcomes and the lesson plan of this subject. There is no particular formatting or referencing required, although you should refer to readings as they relate to your answers (just the name of the author and / or the title of the reading will be sufficient). 1. You should consider the exemplars listed for this marking criterion in the table below whenpreparing your answer. You should read the subject outline and ILB readings to get an understanding of what negotiation is about. This will assist you in identifying experiences, knowledge and skills relevant to this subject. A) What do you hope to learn / achieve in this subject? B) How do you hope to learn / achieve it? These questions relate to marking criterion "9-5(d) Future learning / development plan" (see Criteria Sheet below). You should consider the exemplars listed for this marking criterion in the table below when preparing your answer. Question 2a) is meant to get you thinking about what goals you would like to achieve in this subject. Question 2b) should prompt you to consider how you can enhance your own learning process. You might want to consider learning goals and opportunities within and outside of this subject (e.g. at your workplace, private life). 3. Read Chapter 2 of your Lewicki (2014/2010) text (Distributive Bargaining). Listen to the audio recording in the ILB Folder. Listen not so much to the words themselves, but the meaning behind the words that are said. What is this party trying to achieve by saying these things about this dispute? How does what you have heard relate to the theory of Distributive Bargaining? 4. Please complete the Self Assessment questionnaire provided in the ILB Folder. Once you have identified your bias, reflect on and record whether or not you agree with the result using examples from your everyday life.
