Assignment title: Management

ITD103 - Designing IT – Supplementary Assessment 1 Supplementary Assessment – ITD103 Design Sprint Project Design Sprint This is a supplementary Design Sprint task assigned for ITD103. This assessment is individual and is expected to be submitted within a week of receipt (7 days). Please carefully read the guidelines for this Design Sprint below. If there are any concerns or questions regarding this assessment task, please contact the course coordinator ([email protected]). What you need to deliver for this Design Sprint This Design Sprint is similar in scope to Design Challenges 1 and 2, however, with a smaller time frame. You are expected to find a problem with an existing online I.T service and apply your Design Thinking skills to deliver a solution to said problem space. You are expected to deliver an 800 word document with accompanying images (+/- 10% word count), as well as a link to a working high-fidelity prototype that demonstrates idealized user interaction for your proposed solution. Your document should contain the evolution of your design and problem space, from inception to finish. It should contain strong evidence of the 5 Stages of Design Thinking. You will be expected to deliver the following in your design document:  An introduction outlining the problem space you have identified with an existing online I.T service. Ensure this problem space is not fabricated and provide 3- 5 academic or industry articles or papers to support your problem space.  Documented evidence of feedback from users regarding the true issues with the problem space. A description of the users that are appropriate for your problem space.  A discussion (with accompanying images), regarding the iteration behind your re-design of an existing I.T service. A minimum of 3 re-design ideas are expected in this space.  A final design prototype (with accompanying images and URL to prototype) and explanation as to why you have settled on this design.  Justification as to why your final design prototype is appropriate and how it addresses and solves the problem space first identified.  Any further images, sketches, or points of inspiration that you wish to attach to further your idea. You are also to provide an interactive prototype to accompany your document. This prototype will be high-fidelity and should aim to solve the initial problem space you have identified for an existing online I.T service. Your prototype should contain:  A working URL or link to your prototype that is remotely accessible (please use a prototyping tool we have already covered, such as MarvelApp or InvisionApp).  A digital prototype that reimagines or redesigns the initial service.  Idealized interaction that simulates a working piece of software or hardware.ITD103 - Designing IT – Supplementary Assessment 2 Marking Criteria Please find the attached CRA to view the breakdown of marks for this piece of supplementary assessment. ITD103 Design Sprint Criterion Reference Assessment Criteria + High Distinction - + Distinction - + Credit - + Pass - + Fail - Individual 100% – 85% 84% – 75% 74% – 65% 64% – 50% 49% – 0% Documentation Research 50% Ability to identify a problem and need for solution, as well as provide suitable justification for design choices. Problem definition well thought-out, logical and convincing. Users are highly relevant and reasonable. Strong justification behind iteration of design, as well as justification for final design prototype and how it solves the initial problem space. 3-5 academic or industry references pertaining to your project are provided. Problem definition is logical and convincing. Users are explained and reasonable. Some justification behind iteration of design, as well as justification for final design prototype and how it solves the initial problem space. At least five academic or industry references pertaining to your project are provided. Problem definition is logical and marginally convincing. Users are explained and somewhat reasonable but too broad. Piecemeal justification behind iteration of design, with some justification for final design prototype and how it may solve the initial problem space. At least three academic or industry references pertaining to your project are provided. Problem definition logical but unconvincing. Users are explained but too broad or optimistic. Little justification behind iteration of design, as well as some justification for final design prototype. Fewer than three references are provided. Problem definition is confusing or incomplete. Users are incorrectly explained or incomplete. Little to no justification behind iteration of design, as well as little to no justification for final design prototype. References are absent. Prototype & Design Process 50% Ability to demonstrate topic preparation and familiarity with design process and methods & the key aims of the design challenge. Prototype or solution is high-fidelity, interactive and of professionalquality. Prototype clearly indicates the potential to solve the initial problem space. Sketches, designs and accompanying material is high quality. 3 redesigned ideas provided to high standard. Within word limit (+/-10%). Prototype or solution is high-fidelity and interactive. Prototype indicates a potential to solve the initial problem space. Sketches, designs and accompanying material are relevant. 3 redesigned ideas provided. Within word limit (+/-15%). Prototype or solution is high-fidelity and interactive in sections. Prototype has some evidence to solve the initial problem space. Sketches, designs and accompanying material are acceptable for the problem space. 3 redesigned ideas provided, with some evidence of iteration. Within word limit (+/-20%).. Prototype or solution is sometimes high-fidelity and lacks some interaction. Prototype has some issues solving the initial problem space. Sketches, designs and accompanying material are limited. Fewer than 3 redesigned ideas provided. Within word limit (+/-30%).. Prototype or solution is not high-fidelity and lacks interaction. Prototype clearly does not solve the initial problem space. Sketches, designs and accompanying material are unfinished or piecemeal. No redesigns provided. Within word limit (+/-40%)..
