Assignment title: Management
Task Networking / Systems Administration Students Task Based on your project and the deliverables agreed with your client, this assignment will include: demonstration of a network/system performing all the required functionality; test documentation; maintenance manual (device configurations for all devices in the network, that not only contain the configuration commands but also comments on the function these commands perform for maintenance purposes); user training manuals (This is only necessary if your network provides specific services and software that non-networking personal of the client will use). Networking / Systems Administration This is the final handover of the finished project to the client. The final product includes the actual working network/system as well as all the necessary documentation that is needed by the client to continue to run and maintain it. This assessment item will assess your progress towards achieving the following learning outcomes: Be able to implement standard testing parameters and evaluate system performance; Be able to demonstrate technical writing skills through development of appropriate technical manuals Marking criteria Networking / Systems Administration Criteria HD DI CR PS FL Expertise shown with the demonstration of a network performing all the required functionality (30 marks) Project successfully completed. Almost faultless demonstration of implementation as per the requirement specifications Most of the agreed functionality, about 70% of the project work completed, project works mostly works. Project completed with some issues highlighted to clients. A few essential functions implemented, about 50% of the project work completed, project works reliably. Project completed with some issues highlighted to clients. Some important features worked, but not reliably /prototype presented but failed to work much at all No explanation provided to client. No demonstration of project. Demonstrate client communication skills (30 marks) Demonstrates full knowledge (at times, more than required) with explanations and elaborations of the project; language is clear, correct and precise for client presentation. Demonstrates ease with explanations and willing to elaborate at times. Language is clear, negligible inaccuracy of information presented to client. Demonstrates comfort with explanations, but fails to elaborate at times. Language at times inappropriate but mostly correct information is presented to client. Demonstrates basic grasp of information about project deliverables and closing; client-facing language skills requires refinement. No logical explanation of project status provided. Demonstration of critical thinking and well investigated direction and development of test documentation and required manuals (30 marks) Well planned testing schedule producing a record of results. Evaluates the results against expectations was accurate and opinions informative. A reasonable set of tests, results and process details. Comparison of the results against expectations, mostly accurate and opinions informative. There is some indication of tests, result and process details. Comparison of results against expectations somewhat accurate and some opinions were useful to consider. Some testing carried out, produced limited results. Some attempt to test the network. Few facts and information presented was accurate and there is little or no opinions expressed. No testing plan or results at all or conclusions offered. Length, format and writing style (10 marks) Adheres to word length criteria, correct use of report format and language; all referencing correct. Exceeded word length criteria, appropriate reporting format and language used; all referencing correct.
