Assignment title: Management
Each student is to choose one (1) of the three (3) topics aligned with the assessment 3 criteria (either self-awareness, emotional intelligence or empathy) and post on the Moodle site (in the assessment 1 folder) a short answer (total of 700 words) that addresses the following question: 'How would you explain the concept of self-awareness / empathy / emotional intelligence to another person'? You are to provide a definition of your chosen topic and integrate in-text referencing into your answer. You are also to provide a list of the references used (in reference list format) at the end of your posted answer (this is not included in the word count). Note that whilst your answer does not need to be in essay format, you should attempt to introduce your topic to the reader and provide a brief conclusion. Part 2 (30 marks) In part 2 of the assessment, each student will provide a peer-review of a provided part 1 posted answer (300 words). Students will be allocated a posted answer and will provide constructive feedback to that answer using a standardised guide, which is available on the elearning (Moodle) site. For more information on this assessment, please see the assessment 1 folder on the NMIH101 Moodle site. Lecture notes or online subject-related materials are NOT acceptable as supporting. This essay is based on three (3) key communication concepts that have been discussed throughout the weeks of session. You are to discuss in this assignment the same communication concept that you based assessment one (1) on, which was either: Self-awareness Empathy Emotional Intelligence You are to address the following question in your essay: 'How does a health care worker use self-awareness / empathy / emotional intelligence when communicating with the person receiving care in a health setting? Your discussion is to be in essay structure (introduction, body, conclusion). The content of your essay must be supported with scholarly references to current journal material.
