(a) Describe in your own words each of the four (4) functions of the management process. Using facts from the case study, provide one example of the function(s) that is/are illustrated in that case study. (12 marks)
(b) Draw a diagram of the 4-function management process that illustrates the relationship between the four functions better than the diagram presented in your textbook on page 35. Following the example below, discuss one (1) relationship between any two of these functions.
Example: Relationship between the controlling and planning functions. Planning sets goals to achieve and controlling checks whether these goals have indeed been achieved.

When, through control, a goal has been identified as not achieved, it is possible that poor planning might have been the cause and therefore, better planning might be needed to ensure that the same goal is achieved in the future. (10 marks)
(c) Using the 6 characteristics of an effective (well-written) goal:

Assess the effectiveness of each one of the three (3) goals set by Justin during his first sales meeting and explain the reason(s) why you think each goal, as formulated, is effective or ineffective.
