Assessment Task Overview This task will involve the development of the first section of the main research project focusing on the context, literature review and briefly methodology.

LO2 will be met by the evidence of research skills and the variety of literature found and there relevance to the topic chosen. A merit will be awarded for a clear overview of the main topic which outlines a range of topics within it. A distinction will be awarded for the finding and critically evaluating the literature.

Assessment Task Overview Following part 1 of the project, part 2 will focus on the research methods, findings, discussion and conclusion regarding a relevant topic of the learners choosing.

LO1 will be met by providing adequate research relating to the topic selected using correct terminology. To achieve Merit it will be clear a wide range of research has taken place and key terminology is described. To achieve Distinction learners must be critical in identifying research that oppose and support each other where possible. Key terminology should be described and explained.
LO2 will be met by the evidence of research skills and the variety of literature found and there relevance to the topic chosen. A merit will be awarded for a clear overview of the main topic which outlines a range of topics within it. A distinction will be awarded for the finding and critically evaluating the literature.
LO3 will be met by providing an adequate justification of the decision made for the project. It will have limited support from academic and practice based sources. To achieve Merit a more thought and reflection will be used to justify decisions. Also clear support from academic and practice based sources are used to support decisions. To achieve Distinction critical reflection will have been used to justify clearly every decision made. Also support is used correctly and used within critical arguments from academic and practice based sources are used to support decisions.
LO4 will be met by an adequate evaluation of the research looking at every aspect of the project. To achieve Merit learners will critically evaluate their strengths and limitations. To achieve Distinction learners will critically evaluate and critically reflect on the outcomes of the project.
LO5 will be met by demonstrating and evidencing research findings and on-going reflection. Merit will be achieved by completing the previous but will include a critical level of reflection throughout. Distinction will be met by learners incorporating the findings and reflection throughout their project and applying critical evaluation and reflection to future works.
