Assignment 1: Website analysis report
Due: As per schedule
Word limit: No more than 2000 words (plus appendices and reference list).
You are required to undertake a critical analysis of a current and live website and present it in the form of a formal report that could be presented to the organisation as if they were your real-life 'client'. Based on this analysis, you are required to provide strategic recommendations to your 'client', pertaining to how they could improve upon and/or change their approach to their web strategy.
You are required to specifically analyse the website in relation to the following:
1. Who do you believe are intended audiences of the website?
2. What do you believe is the underlying aim of this website?
3. What do you believe is the main message/call to action?
4. What do you believe is the main strategy under pinning the website?
5. What other online tactics are currently in use to support the website and how successful are they in achieving the aim and conveying the message as described above?
6. Are there any tactics not isuse that could enhance the delivery of the message to the intended audience/s and traffic to the website?
7. What key strategic recommendations could be made that would aid in further enhancing the existing website (sand associated online tactics) and/or develop a new one? Ie: what do you believe should be the main website strategy, aim, message and tactics based on your analysis?
You must provide a detailed analysis supported by references to your main source material (at least 5) to support your discussion and recommendations.

• - Your active participation and performance in online activities;
• - Your active participation and performance in group activities; and
• - Overall participation and engagement in the unit.
A choice of websites will be provided on MyUnits at the beginning of the study period.

Assignment 1 will be assessed on the following criteria, which carry equal weighting:
• - Appropriately and adequately addressing the task;
• - Level of critical analysis of researched materials;
• - Level of in-depth critical analysis of website elements;
• - Level of critical thinking represented in the analysis;
• - Level of critical thinking represented in the strategic recommendations;
• - Appropriate and consistent referencing;
• - Level of professionalism in overall presentation including appropriate written expression, use of language spelling, grammar and editing, layout and format.
