Briefly describe the importance of the interaction between the respiratory and cardiovascular systems in maintaining the body’s internal balance

The cardiovascular system is the system that is meant for the blood vessels and the heart of a human body. The word cardio means the heart and the term vascular means the blood vessels. It is also known as the circulatory system. This system consists of the heart, the blood, the blood vessels and the lymphatic tissues. The functioning of life is carried out by the cardiovascular system. The center of cardiovascular is the heart which functions constantly to infuse the oxygenated blood in to the body.The respiratory gases oxygen and carbon dioxide are infused in the body and perform gaseous exchange through the respiratory system. The gaseous exchange that occurs in the human body consists of inspiring oxygen and expiring carbon dioxide and is carried out in the lungs. The parts of respiratory system are the nose, lungs, trachea and the pharynx (Raven, Peter H., and George B, 1999[a1] )
There is a supply of oxygenated blood is provided by the heart and provides the vital functioning to all the organs. The involvement of respiratory system is required by the heart to do its job. The respiratory system consists of the two lungs, one trachea and one alveolar. The respiratory system supplies oxygen to the blood and further the blood delivers the oxygen to various other parts of the body. The process of respiration occurs by the provision of blood with oxygen. The blood is supplied in the oxygen via the gaseous exchange [a2]
Homeostasis in human body is provided by the cardiovascular system. Homeostasis is meant for the tissue fluids surrounded by the cells needs oxygen and the nutrients that are present in the blood stream to cause functioning properly. The homeostasis is maintained in the human body and is dependent on the capability of the cardiovascular system to deliver the nutrients and the oxygen so that all the cells in the body via the thousands of capillaries that are permeated in every tissue. The respiratory system consists of maintaining homeostasis via two ways first is proper gaseous exchange and the regulation of blood pH (Epstein O, Perkin GD, Cookson J et al, 2008).[a3]
Thus it is suggested that the heart is the vital organ but without the lungs it is impossible for the heart to perform its job. The heart can not operate the cardiovascular system proper functioning even if its healthy and both the lungs are unhealthy. The heart can fail if oxygen is not present and the vice versa is applicable. The human body functions properly only when there is a proper oxygen supply and the only process to maintain this regular supply of the oxygen is by keeping the respiratory and cardiovascular system health and functioned properly (Jannsens, JP, Pache JC, Nicod LP, 1999)[a4]
Summing up, it is said to sustain life the numerous variant organ are to be put together to function. Every organ has its own roles and some of it holds a special position in the body[a5] . All the systems operate in the human body and are dependent on these components to keep the body balance and function properly. One such example is the relation between the cardiovascular system and respiratory system.
