A large construction company, ABC Contractors Pty Ltd, is tendering for projects value ranging $10million to $500million. At present most of the construction companies require to construct building or infrastructure projects based on Design & Construct type procurement. Clients for those projects also would like to implement Quality System to achieve right at the first time. ABC contractor is asked to tender for various activities including residential, commercial & developments.
Client has a desire that this development should be ecologically sustainable and environmentally friendly. According to the condition of contract, as a QA Representative for the contractor, you are required to submit the following documents for approval.
Part 1: The general requirements and standards for this project including selection of systems elements -(2 marks)
Part 2: A quality procedure for document control, which will ensure that parties involved in this project using latest revision of the documents (for example design drawings, or contract documents)- (8 marks)
Part 3: Project Quality Plan - (15 marks)
This assignment is designed to allow you to:
a Give an in depth knowledge of selection of appropriate system element
b Give an ability to write quality procedures related to document control
c Gain an in depth understanding of the requirements of a Quality Assurance Manual
d Gain an in depth understanding of the requirements of Project Procedures

2 PART 2: Document Control Procedure
2.1 Procedure
Each group (maximum 4 students and minimum 3 students) is required to produce the report on document control comprising the followings:
a Purpose
b Scope
c Reference documents
d Definitions
e Responsibilities
f Procedure
g Attachments (Give a flowchart of site drawings, showing steps
involve in document control and the logic)
3 PART 3: Project Quality Plan
3.1 Procedure
3.1.1 Each group is required to produce a Project Quality Plan in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards (according to part 1) for the construction company ABC Contractors Pty Ltd. The ABC Company is responsible for the construction of a high rise building or a infrastructure project in the Sydney area as mentioned before.
All the relevant Australian and ISO9000 series standards are to be used for the preparation of the Project Quality Plan.
3.1.2 Each group shall prepare a Project Quality Plan that should contain minimum items as listed below:
Task 1. Distribution list
Task 2. Amendment status
Task 3. Application and Authorisation
Task 4. Corporate Quality Policy
Task 5. Project Organisation
Task 6. Statement for Authority and Responsibility of all personnel
Task 7. Approval of Quality Manual
Task 8. Issue, control, and review of the quality manual
Task 9. Brief Method Statements (Process Description on at-least 4 activities; one activity per student)
Task 10. Inspection and Test Plan (ITPs for at-least 4 activities, one activity per student)
Task 11. Process of recording non-conformance and conformance reports & corrective action reports
(Activity: Depending on the construction method chosen by the student)
Important: Each student should perform certain components of tasks 9-11 individually & must mention their contribution, which will be assessed as their individual work.
