Assignment title: Information

t is the continue of the previous assignment. Last week, you develop a network diagram in Microsoft Project. A network diagram is an excellent tool to show dependencies in a graphical form, but your schedule is not complete until you assign resources to your project activities. This is known as resource loading – the process of calculating the amounts of individual resources an existing schedule requires during specific time periods. Make any changes that I suggested when you submitted your previous assignment. Do NOT submit your assignment with the same error as that will affect your grade. After reviewing my feedback and make all necessary changes to your work, perform the following tasks: 1. Add all of your resources to the Resource Sheet. If the Max Units is other than 100%, be sure to enter it. Add comments to at least 3 resources. For example, you could describe their expertise, suggestion of a backup person, whatever seems appropriate to facilitate planning and communication. (2points) 2. Assign a standard rate for each resource; overtime rate is optional. (2points) 3. Assign resources to all activities that require resources; note that resources are NOT added to summary tasks/work packages and usually not to milestones. If a work package was not broken down into activities, then you can assign resource to it. (2points) 4. When you assign resources, make sure that the activity durations don't change, unless you want them to; if you have changed the duration from its original value (as shown in last week's file) add a note to the activity explaining why. (1point) 5. Review your resource allocation and make changes as needed to ensure that your resources are NOT overallocated - at least not unreasonably for your project. (2points) 6. For any resources that are overallocated, it must be because you feel this is reasonable; add a comment to the resource explaining why it's OK for them to work extra hours on the project. (1point) 7. Add contingency reserve to the cost of the work packages to determine the cost baseline. Contingency reserve is calculated by multiplying the total cost of work packages by 15%. (2points) 8. Once you are satisfied with your resource and cost estimates; set the baseline for your entire project. (2points) 9. Add management reserve to the cost baseline to determine the total project budget. Management reserve is estimated at 10% of the cost baseline. (2points) 10. Assume that the project started on time and that som************ pass************hen so that you are now halfway through the scheduled duration of your project. For example, if your project is scheduled to end after 6 months, assume you are at the end of the third month. How much has each task progressed at this point? (Hint: we are using the percent complete rule that is based on monitoring points as explained in your reading & lectures this week.) You decide how well the project is going and show the progress for every detail task which has begun by this halfway point in the project. For tasks that didn't start and/or end on time, enter the actual start and/or finish dates as appropriate. At least 1/4 of your tasks should start or end differently than planned - this could include a change in duration as well. (4points) You should have at least one instance of each of the following: Started late, finished on time Started late, finished late Started on time, finished late
