COURSEWORK 1 – MACRO & MICRO ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS COURSEWORK
COURSEWORK SCENARIO
Identify an industry that you are familiar with in a country you are familiar with.
Critically analyse your industry of choice in order to identify the Key Drivers of Change in the macro environmental surrounding your chosen industry. Analyse how the macro environment factors under discussion are affecting the industry’s micro-environment and the consequent competitive landscape of the industry you are discussing.
Having analysed the macro and micro environments, build up scenarios of how organisations in the industry might respond strategically to the identified factors in order to position themselves competitively. Base this exercise on an organisation you are familiar with or, where this is not possible, on a hypothetical organisation.
NOTE:
1. The word count for this coursework is 3000 words +/- 10%
2. This coursework expects you to demonstrate understanding of both the theory behind macro and micro environment analysis as well as the practical application of this theory to practice. Both of these elements must be visible within your coursework
3. Please note that you do not have to discuss all the macro/micro environmental factors affecting the industry. Focus of those that are driving change in the industry or, in other words the Key drivers of change
4. You will be required to submit an electronic copy of the coursework via Turnitin. Please ensure that your coursework is contained in one document and is in the order that it should be printed. Further Turnitin submission details will follow in due course.

6. Colluding on the coursework will result in all students involved receiving a ‘Zero’ mark
7. Marks will be awarded for clear, logical, critical analysis and presentation of information.
