Assignment Task The proliferation of wireless and mobile technologies during the past decade has paved the way for several innovative services and applications. The technology has evolved from voice-only GSM to highspeed mobile broadband technologies that exist today (i.e, LTE, 5G). This has enabled several multimedia-rich applications. In this context, you are expected to write a Journal -style article on the evolution of mobile and wireless communication technologies, applications enabled by these technologies, current deployment status and open challenges that exist. Your article should address the following aspects: 1. Critically discuss the technological evolution of mobile and wireless networks from first generation GSM to currently existing 5G technology. Use relevant references and illustrations to support your answer. (25%) 2. Describe the innovative services enabled by the all-IP-based LTE and 5G technologies in comparison to services enabled by 3G mobile networks. (25%) 3. Critically evaluate the current deployment status of LTE and 5G technologies across the globe. Particularly highlight any deployment challenges. (25%) 4. Discuss any open challenges that exist with LTE and 5G technologies in terms of Quality of Service, performance for multimedia streaming applications etc. (15%) 5.
