The meaning of effectiveness
Consider this question - which university is more effective - Melbourne or Sydney?
On the face of it, this question cannot be answered in a meaningful way - the answer depends on
the criteria you use to evaluate effectiveness. And, the choice of criteria places boundaries
around the concept of effectiveness and gives it specific meaning.
For this assignment, we would like you to think about an organisation that you have a significant
interaction with. It may be your workplace, the University, a hospital or other service provider.
Provide a response to the following questions:
What is the purpose of the organisation? What is the scope of its operations?
From your perspective, what criteria would use to evaluate the effectiveness of this
organisation? Justify your selection of the criteria.
Now consider the criteria that two other stakeholder groups of the organisation might use
of evaluate its effectiveness. Stakeholder groups may include the owners, employees,
customers, creditors, community, suppliers or the Government.
What do you conclude from this this analysis of effectiveness from the perspective of
different stakeholders? What are the implications for the development of a coherent
approach to organisational effectiveness?

A reflective piece should be a personal response to new information, which is shaped by your
own experiences. Reflective thinking involves the processing of information, where thinking and
learning takes place. It involves considering how and why you think the way you do, and an
examination of your beliefs, values, attitudes and assumptions that form the foundations of your
understanding. In your reflective essay, you can discuss:
your perceptions of the term 'effectiveness'
experiences, ideas and observations that you have had in response to the ideas explored
in the subject
what you found confusing, interesting, difficult or inspiring, and why
unanswered questions
comparisons and connections between what you are learning and your experiences or
preconceptions
how new ideas challenge what you already know
your speculations or hypotheses.
In this essay, the reflective component will be mostly subjective. You can comment based on
your experiences, rather than limiting your discussions to academic evidence. A reflective essay
allows you to use different modes of writing and language, including:
descriptive (outlining what something is or how it is done)
explanatory (explaining the why or how)
expressive (I think or I believe)
Where you discuss the work of others, sources should be referenced.

Thinking about effectiveness
Introduction:
Effectiveness is the level of result from the actions of employees and managers who demonstrate
effectiveness in workplace help procedure high quality results. From the very above statement i
want to elaborate the effectiveness of an organization and to evaluate its effectiveness in regards
with the stakeholders. The organization which I work for is ZTA EDUCATION CONSULTANTS website:
www.ztaedu.com.au. The purpose of the organization is to consult International Students in
choosing the best course work, getting the student admissions across states, assist them in any
educational issue and to provide migration services. For that purpose ZTA education consultants
work as a team to perform quality oriented work and with the aim to get more clients and to satisfy
the need of the existing clients.
As of today I would say that the company is doing pretty well as we have captured quite the
international student market and our customers (students) are very happy with the quality and on
time service which we provide hence the business is growing steadily and
As the organization sole rely on the customers Strategic Constituencies Approach is the one which
suites it as the target market are the customers(Students) and if the demand increases we have to
meet that demand by getting more contracts with Universities and Colleges so the students can get
admissions in the desires course.
There are 4 major stakeholders in the company which includes accounts managers (me), marketing
managers, migration agent, director and all other minor stakeholders are the customers (students).
Working with the organization I have observed that even with the different division of work into
departments we still have to manage each other work to make the thing right as the organization is
quite simple in structure but the target market is dynamic. Even thou we have assigned the
according to the names like I have given name of accounts manager and other is given as a
marketing manager we be nature have the knowledge and skill to do both the divisions work, this
goes to the whole organization. This is because the tasks and objectives of each individual are
blended with each other or you can say it works like a hybrid organization. I personally feel that this
act of a hybrid organization is very best as it increase the individual skill and gains knowledge of the
each of the department. Which increases the effectiveness of the organization.
For me acting or working as an accounts officer my effectiveness should be to the internal matters of
the organization and for my effectiveness to be measured Internal process approach is to be used as
I m responsible for the coordination , motivation and of having an aim to excel in at internal
efficiency.
