Unit Description
This is a postgraduate unit and only available to students enrolled in
postgraduate courses. This unit prepares students to undertake professional
placement experience before they graduate from the university to enter the
workforce. One of the important objectives of work integrated learning programs
is to increase the employability of students; this unit embraces employability
skills as its core. In this unit, students will learn how to make decisions on their
own, work in self-managed teams and plan work with very little guidance. During
the course of this unit, students will engage in several learning activities such as
experiential and problem-based inquiry, simulated problems, conflict resolution,
forming interpersonal relationships and increasing their effectiveness and
leadership skills. These approaches focus on building skills and attributes
considered essential to working independently and in teams.
Learning Outcomes
Recognise and respond appropriately to aspects of general and local
variations of work culture.
