The objective of this assignment is:
Describe the content and application of the Ontario Health and Safety Manual (OSHA) for
building construction.
Describe preventing accidents and diseases, harmful effects on the health of workers
depending of project details.
Providing means of analysing from the point of view of safety, health and working
conditions, construction processes, activities, technologies and operations, and of taking
appropriate measures of planning, control and enforcement.
You are assigned as project coordinator, site supervisor for two-story residential building (Timber) with
the following assumption:
The project is located in Toronto, Ontario.
Trades: Carpenters, Plumbers, technicians, civil technicians
Number of workers #15 working and more than 6 persons at a time (in different shift)
The project needs soil investigation and environmental site assessment

Some workers work overtime with risk at vehicular traffic
You are required to consider all the risk associated with the defined project, and explain roles and
responsibilities of peoples involved in this project including, employer, supervisor and worker.
Considering the project assumption and risk assessments, you should explain what trainings and PPEs
are required to different trades working on site. Requirements for first aid facilities should be also
covered.
Project is a group assignment. Each group must submit their project (pdf and hardcopy) based on the
evaluation timetable deadline. Project report should include cover sheet with group team members.
1. Assessment criteria
The assignment will be graded on the basis of the following:
Demonstrating an understanding of the content and application of Ontario Health and Safety
Manual (OSHA) for building construction.
Accuracy of the information presented.
Clearness and effectiveness: Use of appropriate language, clarity, conciseness, appropriateness
of terminology, use of tables, diagrams, images, AIP referencing, etc.
Groups: 4 to 5 members
