Assignment title: Information
Part1
The assignment for CON 1043 Basic Plumbing, Electrical and HVAC Systems is designed to allow the students to demonstrate their understanding in basic Cooling and Heating System. The students are asked to mention the major items that a construction project manager should know about the HVAC system. The focus of the assignment is to demonstrate a group’s ability to appropriately address the main steps designed from the viewpoint of a construction project manager. Each group must deliver the report on the due date and also show their presentation skill in class. All assignment should include cover sheet with group team members. Consider the required project management skills, tools and techniques when working in a group and try to make an effective project team. Peer evaluation submitted separate via email to the instructor.
The assignment is designed in 6 steps
: Step 1: Explain Heating and Cooling System Select the heating and cooling system and its specification for the• building project selected in assignment #1. Explain the requirements in designing the system.• Provide a schematic view of the systems.•
Step 2: Describe the tools/techniques/equipment Explain type of heating and cooling systems.• List different types of components needed in the system.• State major tools and techniques used for installation.• Basic Plumbing, Electrical and HVAC – CON 1043 © 2014 LAMBTON COLLEGE IN TORONTO
Step 3: Identify all the areas need to be coordinated Imagine yourself as a construction project manager and explain all• the areas of coordination during construction project life cycle between you and heating and cooling system contractor. For each phase of the project life cycle, the areas should be listed
.• Step 4: Research on air evaluation factor Specify the importance of the following factor in heating and cooling• system: o dry-bulb temperature o wet-bulb temperature o relative humidity
Assessment #2 Break down
Step 1 Explain Heating and Cooling System 15%
Step 2 Describe the tools/techniques/equipment 20%
Step 3 Identify all the areas need to be coordinated 30%
Step 4 Research on air evaluation factor 15%
