For Assignment 1, you simply choose a recent of 2017 cyber-security related article (you needn't run the topic by me) and read that article, then write a summary about what you read, along with your thoughts, experiences, etc. that are relevant. You should fill two pages double-spaced. Don't forget to cite your article and include a link or scanned version when you send it in online because I am expected to bring a printed copy to class of the same.
