Key Elements and Task
Task You are an international marketing consultant who has
been appointed by the owner of a fictitious Chinese pet
food manufacturing company that is interested in
expanding their business into new international markets.
The business has thrived in its domestic market in recent
years, and it has not yet felt the need to venture beyond
markets in Asia, where it has a healthy presence. The
business specialises in the manufacture of food for dogs
and cats.
However, due to competitive pressures and hearing of
opportunities available to the business internationally,
the owner feels that the time is right to make a move into
a ******opean market. Having done some initial secondary
market research, the owner feels that either the UK or
France may be the right choice of target market in 2017.
Prepare a report for the owner/manager of this business
that will include the following sections:
1. Select one of the two potential markets (UK or France)
using an appropriate framework (such as PESTLE).
Give reasons for your choice of market using this
framework.
2. Develop a market entry plan for the business for your
chosen market

3. Using SMART marketing objectives and with a
budget equivalent up to ****200,000, develop a marketing
plan for the business for your chosen target market for
2018.

providing evidence of evaluative skills. A
submission made up of extracts from published
sources that is descriptive or simply just
theoretical restatement is not acceptable. Your
submission must have taken into consideration
the challenges and issues of translating theory
into practice.
● Logical flow of ideas and treatment; appropriate
selection of real world factors.
● Evidence of personal research and the ability to
analyse material from a variety of appropriate
relevant perspectives.
